Which definition of public or population health should providers use when complying with C27?

The ACCME does not require providers to use a particular definition of public or population health.  As one suggestion, a 1988 Institute of Medicine (IOM) report offered a condensed definition of public health as “fulfilling society’s interest in assuring conditions in which people can be healthy.” (Committee for the Study of the Future of Public Health, 1988, p. 19) [Institute of Medicine (1988).
