Celebrating CE: ACEHP Day of Recognition
Get ready to celebrate the first ever Healthcare Continuing Education Professionals Day on January 24, 2025. It’s a new annual celebration of the CE community of planners, speakers, reviewers, faculty, facilitators, and more, created by the Alliance for Continuing Education in the Health Professions (ACEHP).
The ACEHP designates this day in dedication of “celebrating the professionals who ensure that healthcare providers stay informed, competent, and capable of delivering the best possible care to their patients. Healthcare continuing education professionals play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare by fostering lifelong learning and professional development.”
How will your organization celebrate the CE professionals in your sphere? The ACEHP will keep this webpage open with ideas, resources, a marketing toolkit, and even giveaways as we approach the day. In the meantime, consider hosting an awards ceremony, planning a lunch event, offering workshops, inviting your team on an outing, or launching a social media campaign to feature your team.
The ACEHP invites all participating organizations to share photos and stories by emailing them to acehp@acehp.org as we celebrate the first ever Healthcare Continuing Education Professionals Day!
ACCME Website: Invited Feedback
In July, the ACCME unveiled a newly designed website (ACCME.org) with the goal of utilizing a modern, clean design that meets the latest accessibility standards. Since then, users have had a chance to troubleshoot the new site, finding quirks and offering feedback. AOE has received communication from its accredited provider clients that the new search function sometimes does not link to useful/appropriate content and that the ACCME now includes a feedback survey to visitors of the website as they iron out the inevitable nuances of a new website. For example, a recent search for “employee owners” provided a set of 12 responses, two of which addressed CME about medical marijuana and two that were abstract forms related to accreditation or reaccreditation. Some accredited providers have compared combing through the new search tool results to finding a “needle in a haystack”.
Still, the site packs a punch of a powerful resource library, events calendars, and community information. The main navigation includes new sections about the accreditation process and resources related to data reporting and educational development, both frequently browsed destinations for CE providers.
To further assist in navigating the new site, the ACCME produced three brief videos that serve as guided tours to the new site:
Website Tour 1 – General Introduction (2 min)
Website Tour 2 – Search Using Document Library and Search Pages (3 min)
Website Tour 3 – Where are the FAQs? (2 min)
Explore their new site and then let us know what you think! Your feedback is always valuable and welcome.
