Based on the ACCME definition, a newsletter would not be considered to be a “peer-reviewed forum”. A peer-reviewed forum must not only be a mechanism for the dissemination of research related to CME effectiveness, but ALSO involve a vetting process that “assures that the material being presented is evaluated for its scientific merit by peers in educational research”. As such, peer-reviewed journals or conferences would qualify, but newsletters, discussion boards, and social media posts would not.
