To count for Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) Improvement Activity: Completion of an Accredited Safety or Quality Improvement Program, the CMS expects activities to “include data collection and analysis or performance data to assess the impact of the interventions”. The providers are free to decide and choose the approach they’d like to use to measure the impact of the activity. Quantitative and/or qualitative may be used!
