In CME terms, what is the difference between knowledge, competence and performance?

Knowledge: What an individual does or does not know.

Competence: Skills and abilities – What an individual “knows,” put into action.

Performance: The application of action in actual practice with real patient, research, executive and/or administrate outcomes.
